Amtech has networking, collaborative and long-term business relationships with a number of companies and organizations, including the following (partial list).

 

bulletAR3, Inc. of Buffalo, New York, USA is an Amtech marketing and operational support partner for the oil spill-on-water remote sensing system (SRSS).  SRSS was developed by Amtech for a major oil company. Amtech has a license for the SRSS design, and is currently working with AR3, Inc. in marketing the system and in developing a number of SRSS product enhancements.

 

bulletAyles-Fernie International Limited of Sevenoaks, Kent, England has developed a large capacity oil dispersant spraying system that is deployed on Lockheed 382G (Hercules) aircraft.  Design approval for the system was obtained by Amtech under Transport Canada Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) SA02-132 (an FAA STC is also available for this installation).  For additional information on the NIMBUS system, see the Ayles Fernie website.

 

bulletDiverse Engineering of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada regularly partners with Amtech on military engineering and automated system projects.

 

bulletMeeker Aviation of Pitt Meadows, British Columbia is an Amtech partner in the area of special ops equipment for police helicopters.  Amtech has developed a NightSun mount for the Eurocopter AS350 helicopter.  This mount is marketed through Meeker Aviation and is in use by many police services in Canada, the United States, Europe and abroad.

 

bulletAmtech has a long-term Engineering Services Agreement with Viking Air Limited of Sidney, British Columbia, Canada.  Under this arrangement, Amtech provides design and certification engineering services for Viking in support of the Dehavilland legacy aircraft type designs owned by Viking.  Aircraft supported are the DHC-1 (Chipmunk) through to the DHC-7 (Dash 7) and include the legendary DHC-6 (Twin Otter).

 

Other Important Sites

Amtech works closely with regulatory authorities in the certification of aircraft repairs and modifications and in the development of aeronautical products.  In addition to Transport Canada Civil Aviation, Amtech has extensive experience working with a number of foreign regulatory authorities and design delegates including the United States Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency authorities.

Amtech is an industrial partner in the CBplus project.  Defence R&D Canada (DRDC) is leading this project which is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Technology Research Initiative (CRTI) funded effort and is one of a number of important DRDC initiatives that are part of Canada's counter-terrorism effort.  The CRTI website contains additional information on Canada's counter-terrorism technology activities.

Amtech regularly provides Defence R&D Canada Suffield (DRDC Suffield) with professional management, engineering and technical services in support of a variety of R&D thrusts and projects.  For more information on DRDC Suffield, see their website www.drdc-rddc.gc.ca.

Amtech is an engineering and technical services contractor for the Canadian Centre for Mine Action Technologies (CCMAT). Amtech projects for CCMAT include the development of a low-metal mechanical scanner for the evaluation of hand-held mine detectors and the development of mechanical mine surrogates for anti-personnel mines. Established in 1998, the Centre carries out research and development into low-cost, sustainable technologies for humanitarian de-mining.
