| The Large Scale Test Facility designed, prototyped and commissioned by Amtech at DRDC Suffield measures the blast effects from charge sizes up to 2 kilograms (C4 equivalent). These relatively large charges are buried in soil and targets are attached to the superstructure of the facility. Force transducers built into the superstructure record the total load imparted by the blast while other instrumentation measures local blast effects. Experimental variables include soil conditions, stand-off distance, depth of burial, charge size and type of explosive. |
